Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags, which we refer to collectively as "cookies" in this policy.

We use the following categories of cookies:
Essential Cookies
Required for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled.
- Session token: keeps you authenticated between page loads.
- CSRF token: protects against cross-site request forgery attacks.
- Preferences: stores UI settings such as theme and sidebar state.
Analytics Cookies
Help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. All data is aggregated and anonymized.
- Page views & navigation: which features are visited most.
- Error tracking: captures frontend errors to help us fix bugs faster.
- Performance metrics: load times and responsiveness.
Marketing Cookies
Used on our public landing page to measure campaign effectiveness. Not used inside the authenticated app.
- Conversion tracking: records sign-up and upgrade events from ads.
- Referral attribution: identifies which channel brought you to Smuke AI.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use. These are governed by their respective privacy policies:
- Stripe: payment processing and fraud prevention.
- PostHog / Plausible: privacy-focused product analytics.
- Sentry: error monitoring and performance tracking.
- Intercom: customer support chat widget (landing page only).
We select third-party providers who respect user privacy and offer adequate data protection agreements.
4. Cookie Duration
Cookies we set fall into two duration categories:
- Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close your browser. Used for authentication state.
- Persistent cookies: remain on your device for a defined period (typically 30 days to 1 year). Used for preferences and analytics.
5. How to Manage Cookies
You have several options to control cookies:
- Browser settings: most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies via Settings → Privacy. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent the app from working correctly.
- Opt-out tools: you can opt out of analytics via browser Do Not Track signals or tools like the DAA opt-out page.
- In-app preferences: we provide a cookie preference center on the landing page where you can toggle non-essential cookies.
Disabling analytics or marketing cookies does not affect your ability to use the platform's core features.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We honor DNT signals by disabling analytics and marketing cookies for users who have enabled this browser setting. Essential cookies required for platform operation are not affected by DNT.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features or third-party integrations. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app banner.
